Giving Back

As we pursue our mission, we desire to heed God's call for us to be His hands and feet as He cares for and provides for those who cannot provide for themselves. As a part of this, we have decided to dedicate 1 out of every 10 animals we raise to be given to a local family in need. Our heart is primarily with those who are dealing with illness and tragedy. "Consider the lilies of the field..."

When we decided to start Lily of the Field and looked at the challenge before us, it was intimidating how uncertain everything was and how insufficient we were to guarantee success. But we found encouragement when we looked to Matthew 6:25-34 and were reminded how God cares for and provides for even the smallest of his creation. We know that God cares for us in this same way!

With that in mind, we chose Lily of the Field to be the name of our farm, to continually remind us of God's provision in our lives as we work to build this farm into whatever He has planned.

Who We Are

We are Thor and Stephany Alexander, and we live in Fillmore county with our two kids. Thor grew up on the family dairy farm, working there full time until the end of the dairy business in 2019, and continuing to help out as needed with the crops and remaining livestock once the dairy herd was gone. Thor has always had an appreciation for regenerative farming practices, and enjoyed experimenting with pastures and alternative feeds with the pigs we raised for our own family. So in the spring of 2026, we decided to embark on a new venture, raising and selling pigs for more than just our own family.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide for our family by providing high quality, wholesome food for the families and individuals in our community.

Farming has been a passion of Thor's for his entire life, and as our family has grown, Stephany has grown an appreciation for whole foods and responsibly sourced meat and animal products. With our growing concerns about the quality of industrially farmed food and our efforts towards building a healthier lifestyle for our family, we believe it is more important than ever to invest in a food supply that is local and accountable. We have found it so fulfilling to grow quality meat for ourselves and are excited to share that same quality product with others, and do our small part to change the future of food in America.
